Maintenance Awareness

Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter…………..it’s time to check, fix, and repair!

Our recommendations for a maintenance check are simple:

*Brakes: fluid level, master cylinder, shoes, pads
*Cooling System: radiator, coolant, hoses, thermostat
*Engine: oil and filter, battery, belts
*Transmission: fluid level, filter
*Body & undercarriage: u-joints, ball joints, shocks, struts and boots
*Air Conditioning: compressor, hoses
**USE THE MANUFACTURER’S RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE**

Maintain Correct Tire Pressure

Look for this information in your vehicle

The “right amount” of inflation for your tires is specified by the vehicle manufacturer and is shown on either the vehicle door edge, door post, glove box door or fuel door and is listed in the vehicle owner’s manual.

*Check inflation pressure at least once a month and before long trips.

*Check the spare tire.

*Tire inflation pressure increases (in warm weather) or decreases (in cold weather) 1-2 pounds for every 10 degrees of temperature change.

Understanding the Safety Triangle

Worn Shocks and Brakes Can Wear Down Your Tires

Understanding the Safety Triangle

Steering: Shocks help distribute your car’s weight over all four tires, improving handling during turns.

Stopping: Shocks and brakes work together to help your vehicle stop sooner under certain driving conditions, by minimizing weight transfer to the front wheels.

Stability: Shocks and tires work together to help maximize tire-to road contact, improving vehicle stability.
